The one man behemoth known as Brendan Eich is taking on the pay to play streaming platforms with a new feature called “Brave Playlist.” Starting in iOS (13 and up) and then coming to Android soon, users will be able to add audio and video files from Twitch, YouTube, Vimeo, Soundcloud, and podcasts to a playlist for offline play and background play. There is one more unadvertised feature, but something standard with Brave Browser there are no ads.
So essentially if you are paying for Spotify, Soundcloud, or YouTube Premium for a here and there party playlist or a road trip then you are paying for something you don’t need, since the engineers at Brave have bundled all these useful features for music/podcasts into one nice addition to their free browser. Some of you might be thinking what about the artists? They can be rewarded in BAT tips from the browser. The few of you who already browse in Brave may have noticed Stokedwallet.com is a Brave verified creator, so for those of you with auto-tipping even though all my ads are being blocked I am still receiving Basic Attention Tokens which I can then in turn use to advertise or sell/stake on an exchange.
Here’s a song to commemorate you saving a hundred dollars or more a year in subscription fees. While you’re at YouTube be sure to give me a subscribe so when I post video content you’ll be the first in the know.
